This is an amazingly delicious drink…

Summer Water DrinkLast Year I had a great time to meet fellow perfumer Udo Ludwig, his wife Phyllis, and their cute little doggie, Dixie Belle in Palm Springs.  When I walked into the Hotel Lobby, at the front desk they had a large transparent iced water jug/dispenser on the counter, with the most delicious water in it.  It took me awhile to find again the right hotel to inquire about it, but I found that they had stopped providing it for customers because of a change in management.  But when I spoke to the Chef, he was so amazed that me and Fellow Perfumer Udo had so admired the drink, that he instantly made up a pitcher for me to enjoy.

So, I wanted to share it with you, because it was so very refreshing and different, also perfect for the dry of Palm Springs too, maybe that was part of how refreshing it was…?  🙂

It does have a recipe, which follows:

1/2 Valencia Orange

1/2 Meyer Lemon

1/2 Cucumber

Sprigs of either fresh Fennel or Basil, whichever is in season.

Place in fridge overnight to infuse the water well and blend.

Serve cold over ice.

It was such a treat to enjoy, maybe you will too.

I learned this week on a friend’s Facebook post that a quite similar blend infusion helps to rid headaches from your body, yet another plus to this blend…    COOL!

I know it’s a little early for summery drinks for the rest of the USA, but here in California, when it was almost 90F today here, it’s perfect…!
